Random Bits

We were decorating sugar cookies. Cami is saying 'cheese.' She found my mixing bowl and announced it as her hat.
We went up to the Oakland temple to see the lights. They have a mini-temple square up there. It was a little weird for us Idahoans to see palm trees all lite-up, but it was cool. Emma was a bit cold this day. (Cold for CA)Our ward had family home evening up at the temple. They brought hot chocolate to keep warm and cookies! I think Cami had about 3 glasses!

The whole fam!

Confessions of a Three-Year-Old

The other night we were explaining what a treasure is to Emma. We explained that it is gold and silver and that she (Emma) was a treasure to us. There was a disconnect so we continued and I showed her my wedding ring. I told her it was a treasure and means a lot to me just like she is a treasure and means a lot to us. Emma then pointed at my ring and exclaimed, "Mom, what is that?" I told her it was diamond. She then says, "Mom, I really like diamonds." We'll tell her fiance that some day.

Confessions of a Three-Year-Old

So have you all seen the Disney movie Enchanted? Well Emma is obsessed with it. You know the part where Giselle takes a bite of the apple and it rolls down the stairs? Well the other day, I caught Emma dressed in her Sleeping Beauty dress at the top of our stairs. She was pacing back and forth and kind of fussing about something. She seemed to be checking around her. I couldn't quite figure out what she was doing. Suddenly she drops to the floor and a plastic apple drops from her hand and rolls down the stairs. She then sits up a little to make sure it rolled down the stairs and then falls back down pretending to be asleep. I'm sure awaiting true love's kiss. I love it!
We have also been playing a lot of Candy Land lately. At the end of one game Emma announces quite proudly, "I am the winner and you guys are all lost-ers."

Thanks a lot!

Dear Mr. Jerk-
Thanks a lot for stealing my husband's bike yesterday. We really appreciate it. This wouldn't be as big of a deal if this had been a first offense. But alas, you were in Utah with us too and there confiscated a much beloved Gary Fisher.
I had hope that the 10 commandments were still alive and well, you know THOU SHALT NOT STEAL!!!! But apparently you are one of those people who thinks that 'its just my life, I can do what I want.'
Your charming decisions have affected our family. My husband was trying to save money by not having to pay to part at the train station everyday. And was getting exercise by riding a mile to and from BART everyday.
Thanks for stealing his graduation present. I hope it was worth it.
Sincerely,
A very ticked off wife!
